The system is a remarkable treatment for all areas of the face and body, designed to reduce fine, downy hair. This type of hair is very difficult to remove with other methods as the growth is usually dense and would take a long time to treat with electrolysis. It is also not suitable to be treated with IPL or Laser because it has no colour for the laser to target. Alkaline Wash can remove large areas of hair in one treatment without discomfort, in comparison to other hair-removal systems. It also works well when combined with electrolysis and laser, which are suitable for terminal hairs. After your first treatment, the hair will grow back at its normal rate, but as treatments progress the hair regrowth rate will become slower and the hair will weaken; usually resulting in a permanent loss over a period of time.
How ALKALINE WASH Works
DMK's amazing ALKALINE WASH system is a unique formula that takes the pH of the skin to the opposite end of the pH Scale. The ALKALINE WASH has the ability to turn the pH of the skin from 5.6 to a pH of 12 in under three minutes. This action completely softens or desquamates the skin cells.
This dissolving action works on scar tissue, facial hair, razor bumps, acne on male backs and any unwanted hair on any part of the body without the use of harmful acids. Alkaline swells, softens and dissolves skin whereas an acid hardens it, causing skin cells to pop off.
This unique formula does not discriminate as to what kind of dead protein is dissolved so it will dissolve hair as well. This makes it very effective for the removal of unwanted hair on the body or face.

Areas you can remove hair with Alkaline Wash:
• Face (lip, chin, sides of the face and full face)
• Men’s beards are strong and resilient taking too long to dissolve which would result in dissolving excessive skin causing irritation. Men who are just starting to shave can have Alkaline Wash to remove the fine fluffy hair and this will retard the growth at the same time preventing folliculitis and pimples
• Bikini (with caution)
• To remove excessive facial hair from acne skin
• To help removal of embedded and congested hair follicles in folliculitis cases (including Caucasian and Black males)
• To use as an alternative or adjunctive treatment to electrolysis. Alkaline Wash clears the areas of superfluous hair that electrolysis may not remove during the course of a single treatment, leaving the client with a clean area each time. Alkaline Wash also may uncover compacted groups of hair follicles hidden under the skin, allowing the electrologist to easily remove the hairs with diathermy
Large areas of the body:
Alkaline Wash hair removal is very beneficial on darker skinned clients that become darker in areas due to the trauma of waxing.
• Underarms • Nipples
• Arms • Buttocks
• Legs
• Back and stomach
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is alkaline bad for my skin?
A: No, Alkaline Wash is used in many of our skin revision systems and is not bad for the skin. We always finish the treatment with the appropriate products to restore optimal skin health and homecare must be used
Q: Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
A: It is physically impossible for your hair to grow back thicker or darker as the Alkaline Wash weakens and eventually reduces the hair growth
Q: How often will I need to have this done?
A: When you initially start, you will have the treatment as often as you would have electrolysis on the area. As the hair growth weakens, the hair is reduced and your treatments will become further and further apart. These treatments are progressive; there is no one quick fix treatment that gets rid of hair permanently.
Q: Can I wear makeup?
A: You can wear makeup 24 hours after an Alkaline Treatment
Q: What are some benefits of having alkaline wash?
A: Alkaline Wash is better for removing facial hair as it will improve the skin texture and colour at the same time. If waxing causes the area to go darker, Alkaline Wash will lighten the area being depilated. If you suffer ingrown hairs or folliculitis it will eradicate this concern and prevent reoccurrence. Alkaline Wash weakens hair growth and over time drastically reduces it.
HOME CARE
1. Do not apply makeup on the area treated for at least 12-hours, unless it is prescribed by the DMK practitioner.
2. Do not sunbathe or use a sun-bed for at least 14-days following treatment. 3. Do not scratch or in any way abrade the area after a treatment.
4. Herb & Mineral Mist and Seba-E Oil MUST be applied as an after-care prescriptive. Use twice or three times daily for 4 or 5 days. If excessive heat or irritation is experienced after the Alkaline Wash treatment, then Contraderm Crème should be applied to calm it down, with ice (in gauze) if necessary.
5. DMK Transdermal Sunscreen should be used daily.
6. Do not use any other products during treatment unless approved by the practitioner as they may irritate the skin and lengthen the healing process.
7. Redness, dryness and some scabbing may occur after treatment, all of which are normal reactions and clear up within a few days. We advice to use Herb & Mineral Mist, Seba E oil and DMK Contraderm Crème in combination.
8. Wait at least 7-days before electrolysis is performed on the treated area and at least 2-weeks before any laser treatment on the treated area.
